RetCon: Glittr’s father was captured while hunting down rumors that his mother, Krislynn, was involved in wrongdoing. In Silverymoon, he discovered it was a Rakshasa impersonating her, not Krislynn herself. She had been captured and taken to Hell, while the Rakshasa continued acting in her place.
Back in Waterdeep, we visit a few shops. RC has Glittr make a harness for Bahamut. After some more shopping, we head back to our home for the evening. Upon opening the door, Baptiste’s spider-senses start tingling. We hear the floorboards creaking from the second floor. Caulkin sneaks upstairs to investigate and notices a blue tiefling boy trying to sneak out. Caulkin fires an arrow near him, scaring him into staying.
We interrogate the boy. Brylwynn senses he’s just a bored teenager breaking into his neighbors’ houses. He admits to breaking into ours before and being caught by his father. He pleads with us not to tell him. After a group huddle, we decide to tell his father.
We head next door and meet a half-elf man named Valeth. Valeth asks Kai, the boy, what he’s doing with us. Brylwynn brings up our idea to hire Kai as a guard to watch our home while we are out of town. Heathwell, Kai’s other father, joins the conversation.
(Note: Heathwell is a Fighter; Valeth is a Bard.)
We agree to pay Kai 5 silver a month to watch the house.
We then visit Larael’s Keep. She reunites warmly with Elena. We update Larael about Haephestus and the phylactery (from two sessions ago). Larael explains that Lliira helped create the Shards, Kelemvor forged the daggers that dealt the final blow, and the Raven Queen created the domain where the events unfolded. She believes she found a missing piece about Ruathym: when the Shards were activated, they drew Mystra’s attention. Mystra felt honor-bound to protect one shard — the one under Ruathym — and offered her aid.
Originally, Larael and her husband went to Ruathym to unlock the shard and discover its secret: a great sacrifice must be made. Her notes end there, as her memory was wiped afterward.
Larael plans to focus next on the Key of Avernus we brought her. Meanwhile, Krowen is working on gaining us access to Sigil, the planar nexus that will let us eventually reach the Abyss and confront Graz’zt.
(There’s also a green dragon near Neverwinter making exploratory trips — a future issue.)
Brylwynn jokes that Pearl should be the sacrifice, given that she originally angered Klauth.
Before we leave, Larael helps Brylwynn connect more easily to the Weave. Now, Brylwynn can cast cantrips, 1st, and 2nd level spells without relying on Eleador’s or Haephestus’ corrupt magic — instead, her magic is more aligned with Mystra.
(Note: Caulkin’s ring still holds a 3rd-level Healing Word and a 2nd-level Misty Step.)
The next morning, after resting, we visit Larael again, who gifts us a Scroll of Water Breathing. We head down to the docks where the city is bustling. One ship is clearly preparing for a long trip. A blue-skinned half-elf captain spots us and flirts openly with Brylwynn, causing her to blush and stammer a greeting. He offers to take us to Ruathym, a 10-day journey across the Trackless Sea.
During the voyage, we fight off a few minor sea creatures but nothing major.
(Reminder: Erinyes are immune to both Fire and Radiant Damage.)
Throughout the trip, Brylwynn endures minor mental assaults from Beshaba but maintains her lawful neutral alignment.
On the tenth day, we spot Ruathym. Disembarking, we find dead sea creatures and cultists on the beach, their bodies marked with ritualistic wounds. Pearl recognizes ritual sigils nearby and gathers that the cultists essentially “drank the kool-aid,” and it ended badly for them. The island looks tropical and lush, but there are no signs of civilization.
We march inland. RC leads the group through dense tropical foliage, while Glittr spots the remains of an adult dragon — the type and cause of death unknown.
As we near a large lake, we see a portal in the sky, spewing fire downward. Below it, standing amid scorched dragon scales and flames, is the last Erinyes, now larger and clad in red dragon regalia. She taunts us viciously, threatening agonizing deaths and boasting of our impending defeat. She summons three fiery chains and launches a devastating attack.
The battle begins — and it’s brutal. Her attacks deal massive damage, and we are quickly overwhelmed.
The fight is to be continued…

New Allies and Home Security:
After returning to Waterdeep, the party catches local teen Kai breaking into their house. Instead of punishing him, they hire him as a house-sitter. A reunion follows between Elena and Larael, where they discuss Haephestus’ phylactery and how Mystra once protected a shard beneath Ruathym.
Plans for the Future:
Larael reveals more about the shards, Zariel, and Graz’zt. Meanwhile, Krowen works on gaining access to Sigil. News of a growing green dragon threat near Neverwinter is noted for later. Brylwynn trains with Larael to better access the Weave without relying on cursed magic.
Voyage to Ruathym:
The party accepts a 10-day sea voyage to Ruathym, captained by a charming half-elf who flirts with Brylwynn. After minor skirmishes at sea, they land on the island, finding dead cultists and ritual sigils, but no signs of living civilization.
Clues of Greater Battles:
As the group explores the tropical island, they discover the remains of a fallen adult dragon. Evidence points to powerful forces at work—likely tied to the Erinyes they had faced before.
Confrontation with the Erinyes:
At a lakeside portal spewing flames, the party faces the last Erinyes, now fused with red dragon powers. She promises agonizing punishment for the party as battle erupts—and the fight leaves the party badly battered before the session ends on a cliffhanger.
